We are thrilled to celebrate another team member achievement – congratulations to head nurse Caz, who has passed her nursing certificate in physiotherapy and rehabilitation.
Caz has been putting her new skills into use during her course…
- Creating exercise plans for patients with arthritis or those recovering from surgery
- Monitoring patient’s pain and lameness scores using questionnaires and our stance analyser
- Increasing the range of rehabilitation modalities we use in the practice. We have been successfully using therapeutic laser in our arthritic and surgical patients for many years now. We can now complement this with a PEMF (pulsed electromagnetic field therapy) mat and therapeutic ultrasound.
Caz’s own dog Xeva recently underwent surgery to repair a ruptured cruciate ligament. The photo is of Xeva relaxing on the PEMF mat during her post-operative recovery period. She is also sporting a new harness which we she tried out for us – we will soon have these available to loan for patients recovering from surgery, to help owners safely support them getting up and about.
If you have a pet at home who is struggling with their mobility, get in touch to see how Caz and the team can help them.
