A wet, but fun dog day!

By August 21, 2017 Uncategorized

Sadly the weather was rather wet and grey yesterday, but lots of lovely dogs and their owners still headed to Cockington Country Park for their second Dog Day.

It was lovely to meet friends, old and new, and to see so many fantastic dogs out and about.  This year, we were especially excited to be judging and providing prizes for one of the dog show classes! Our class was ‘Canines of Cockington’, for those dogs who are regular visitors to Cockington Country Park. It was incredibly tough to choose one winner, but in the end vet John and nursing assistant Laura chose a gorgeous ‘ClumberPoo’ (Clumber Spaniel x Poodle). There were lots of other classes, and one of our patients, Lily, a beautiful Golden Retriever won prettiest bitch.

We had some lovely treats including home-made duck and apple dog treats, and biscuits for their human owners.

We once again supported Torbay Coast and Countryside Trust with our raffle. The lucky winner was Alwyn, who won a hamper full of goodies for her dogs and those she fosters for charity.

We felt the day was a success despite the weather and hope the event is repeated next year! Thanks to all those who turned out to support it.
