Cat - Omega Interferon

Why has my veterinary surgeon prescribed this medicine?

Interferons help the body to mount a defence against infections such as viruses. Omega Interferon is used in conjunction with fluid therapy and other supportive therapy for the treatment of parvovirus infection in dogs. After full recovery, it is advisable to have your pet vaccinated so that the animal is protected against the disease.

Omega Interferon is also used for treatment of cats infected with feline leukaemia virus (FeLV) and/or feline immunodeficiency virus (FIV).

Your veterinary surgeon may prescribe this medication for other viral infections.

How does this medicine work?

Omega interferon stimulates the immune system to attack the virus affecting the animal.
